I didn’t find strength training because I was a natural athlete. I found it because I was lost.
As a teenager, I struggled with confidence and self esteem. I was overweight, lacked a sense of purpose, and was beginning to make choices that were leading me down a very dark path. I was at a crossroads—one direction led to a life of wasted potential, and the other required a level of discipline I hadn't yet discovered.
I chose to change. I stepped into a weight room, and for the first time, I found a place where my effort was directly rewarded with progress.
The gym became my anchor. It provided the structure I was missing and a positive pursuit in life. That initial spark turned into a lifelong passion: I went on to earn a degree in exercise science, win Maryland's Strongest Man, open a gym and dedicate over two decades to coaching others.
I started Perry Hall Strength & Conditioning because I want to provide that same anchor for the youth in our community. I know firsthand that when you teach a young person to be strong, you aren't just changing their physique—you are giving them the discipline to turn their life around and the confidence to lead it.
We offer training for Teens and Little Lifters (ages 8-11). We have programs for youth sports and for kids who are not interested in team sports at all. Strength training is an individual activity and one that we hope every young person will adopt early and take with them for the rest of their lives.
